PLG for the Park - A Success!

A huge THANK YOU to the over 40 volunteers who showed up on September 17th for PLG for the Park!  We cared for 34 tree beds (plus 4 tree-less beds) along the Ocean Avenue Prospect Park Perimeter, and had a fantastic time working together!  Thank you again to the Prospect Park Alliance for planning this event with us and to the Partnership for Parks Capacity Fund Grant for funding.

STEP 1 - PICK UP TRASH

STEP 2 - WEED (pull weeds from the roots)

STEP 3 - LAY DOWN TREE FABRIC (to halt weed growth and support good water retention)

STEP 4 - SPREAD LAYER OF MULCH (supports water retention)

STEP 5 - CELEBRATE WORK WELL DONE

STEP 6 - ENJOY BEAUTIFUL & HEALTHY TREE BEDS
