SUCCESS!
Forty people showed up and planted over 700 (!) flower bulbs in 50 tree pits. And with a nice blanket of fresh mulch from NYC Parks our beloved street trees are ready for their long winter nap.

June 8th Planting Event - success!
We had amazing weather for our 6th annual Spring Planting Extravaganza. Nearly fifty neighbors came together to spread mulch and love across our long, long blocks.
We spread compost, mulch, and plants in over 55 tree beds this year!

Fall tree care event - success!
We had lovely weather for a long day of work. Over 25 people showed up and planted over 300 flower bulbs, carted away bags of trash, removed stone blocks from tree pits, and spread mulch over a record 63 trees! Huge thank you to all our volunteers and neighborhood supporters!

Spring Planting Event 2018 - success!
We had an amazing turnout yesterday for our 5th annual Spring Planting Event. Over fifty volunteers spent a sweltering afternoon cleaning, spreading compost and mulch, and planting flowers in over 40 tree beds up and down Ocean Avenue. Our block looks amazing!
Special thanks to NYC Parks for providing mulch, BIG Reuse for providing compost, Grow NYC for providing tools, and above all the Citizens Committee for New York City for their ongoing and generous support for our neighborhood. And thank you to our amazing neighbors, who came from up and down the block and from even further away. It's always lovely to spend the day with neighbors - looking forward to many more successful events!
